Baslow St. Anne's C of E Primary School

Safeguarding

Safeguarding & Child Protection:

Through our vision of: ‘Life in all its fullness… growing healthy minds and hearts together’ respect, kindness and diversity, we as a school fully recognise its responsibilities for child protection and safeguarding. The school works closely with all its key stakeholders: the children, staff, parents and governors to ensure effective and up to date procedures and policies are in place for safeguarding and child protection. The school also works with the community including: St. Anne’s Church, the Methodist Church, Derbyshire’s Children’s Safeguarding Board, local police, fire service, health, MAT, NSPCC, secondary and cluster school and other external support services to ensure the highest level of child protection and safeguarding is in place. Through the school’s vision and aims we nurture resilience and positive citizenship, supported by an enriched curriculum to prepare our children with skills for life.

We recognise as a school that the community is typically white British and we ensure a rich and broad curriculum to ensure that all of our children are given experiences out of the community, aiming to strengthen diversity in and out of school and increase worldly knowledge and understanding (at age appropriate levels) to ensure safeguarding and child protection are fully effective. We also work closely with our cluster schools to strengthen this further.
