    Wed 03 May 2023

We have arrived safely and are loving our first day of residential! We started the day by challenging ourselves with a high ropes course. After our packed lunch, we practised our archery skills and had a great time problem solving and playing on the adventure course. We then made our beds and settled into our rooms before having a delicious dinner of mac ‘n’ cheese or spag bol! We are currently completing an orienteering challenge and then we will hopefully stay dry building our rafts!

  • Y4 Whitehall Residential - Day 2

    Sun 22 May 2022

Day 2 was even better than day 1! We started the day with a breakfast of cereal, toast, sausages and hash browns before heading off to The Roaches for some rock scrambling. We came back and had our lunch and stayed onsite in the sun to challenge ourselves on the big zip wire. Everyone had a go including Miss Grant (who needed the whole class to pull her back up to the top!). We had a delicious dinner of spag bol followed by cherry cheesecake and a visit from Mr O. After dinner, we opened the tuck shop, packed our bags ready for the morning and played secret agents - a ginormous game of hide and seek with the teachers!

  • Y4 Whitehall Residential - Day 1

    Wed 18 May 2022

We started off our day talking about worries in the classroom before a nature walk to Chatsworth! Once arriving at Whitehall, we were introduced to the staff and found our rooms and kit before doing some team building and the ropes course. For dinner, we had a delicious roast dinner followed by crumble! We ended the evening with a soggy night hike around Goyt Valley - hopefully they are thoroughly tired out after a hot chocolate...

  • Y5 Hollowford Trip - Day 3

    Fri 06 May 2022

What a trip! Y5 have had a fantastic time at Hollowford creating many happy memories and trying lots of new things. We finished our residential with a walk up to Peveril Castle and an ice cream!

A big thank you to all the Y5s for making it such a wonderful trip!

  • Y5 Hollowford Trip - Day 2

    Thu 05 May 2022

We have had another fantastic day here at Hollowford! We started the day with a delicious hot breakfast and the choice of some cereals too before heading out on a group walk to Back Tor. After a jacket potato lunch, we explored a cave just outside of Castleton. The cave was a very exciting experience with opportunities to try out some challenging holes and paths before turning off our head torches to experience real darkness. We came back for a roast dinner and then completed the high ropes course as well as the adventure course.

  • Y5 Hollowford Trip - Day 1

    Wed 04 May 2022

Y5 have had a fantastic first day at Hollowford!

We arrived and had a tour of the site, sorted our rooms and ate our packed lunch (at around 11.30 as we were so excited). After lunch, we had a great time playing some team building games and making rafts to race around the pond. They all had the chance to then have a swim whilst Miss Grant and Mrs Clark stood safely on the dry, warm sidelines supervising.

For dinner, we ate a tasty meal of spag bol or mac and cheese and then headed in our groups to archery and the zip line.

We are looking forward to our day tomorrow which will start with a hike to Mam Tor.
